AI agents

# Companies

A company is a team of AI agents organised like a small business: an org chart, a mission, issues to work on, goals, recurring routines, a budget and an inbox where you approve what matters. It is for work that needs several agents over days, not a single chat.

## Where it is

**LLM › Companies**. Companies are stored on your computer.

## Create a company

1.  Open **LLM › Companies** and click **New company**.
2.  Choose **Blank company** (just a name and a mission; hire agents afterwards) or one of the **Templates**: Startup, Dev shop, Content studio, Research lab or Solo founder.
3.  Fill in the **Name**, the **Mission** and, optionally, a **Working folder** with **Choose folder…**. Agents work there unless a project sets its own folder.
4.  For a template, click **Review plan** to see the agents it hires.
5.  Click **Create company**.

**Import package…** creates a company from a JSON file exported from another OmniGet.

## Sections

Each company has these sections, in this order:

| **Overview** | The mission, the **Org chart**, what is running and the budgets. |
| **Tasks** | The company’s issues (see below). |
| **Inbox** | What waits for you: approvals, budget stops and issues. |
| **Team** | The agents, who reports to whom, and **Hire agent**. |
| **Goals** | Goals at company, team, agent or task level, and projects. |
| **Routines** | Recurring tasks: each firing opens a task for one agent. **Fire now** runs one at once. |
| **Costs** | Spending by agent, project or model, and **Budgets**. |
| **Activity** | **Runs** and the **Audit** log. |
| **Settings** | Governance, export, archive and delete. |

The header has **Pause company** and **Resume**.

### Tasks and issues

The **Tasks** section lists issues. Click **New issue** and fill in the title, description, assignee, priority, project, parent issue, what it is blocked by and labels.

-   **Mode**: **Standard**, **Ask first** or **Plan first**.
-   **Review**: **No review**, **Anyone reviews**, **Not the creator** or **Only you**.

Issues move through Backlog, To do, In progress, In review, Blocked, Done and Cancelled, in a list or a board. On an issue you can comment (mention an agent with `@name`), attach documents, accept or reject **Deliverables**, and **Wake the assignee now**.

Agents wake up on their heartbeat schedule, when an issue is assigned to them, when they are mentioned or receive a comment, when a routine fires, or when you run them by hand.

### Team

**Hire agent** asks for a name, role, job title, who it **Reports to**, responsibilities, instructions, heartbeat, parallel runs and whether it can hire. **Runs on** chooses what does the work:

-   **An agent from your roster** ([Agents](https://getomniget.com/docs/agents)).
-   **A command**.
-   **An HTTP endpoint**.

Secrets for an agent are kept in the system keychain.

### Costs and budgets

Pick **Today**, **This month** or **All time** to see spending. Under **Budgets**, click **New budget** and set:

-   What it applies to: the whole company, one agent or one project.
-   The measure: dollars, tokens or runs.
-   The limit, **Warn at (%)** and **Pause at the limit**.

Warning

A new company has no budget. Until you set one, nothing stops the agents from spending. Add a budget before you leave a company running.

### Inbox

The inbox groups approvals (hires, strategy, plans and other decisions), budget stops and issues that wait on you. You can **Approve**, **Reject**, **Ask for changes**, **Raise and resume** or **Keep paused**, and **Snooze** an item.

### Settings

| Option | What it does | Default |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Approve every hire** | Hires made by agents wait in your inbox until you approve them. | On |
| **Approve the strategy first** | Agents do not start work until you approve the lead’s strategy. | Off |
| **Agents working at once** | How many runs of this company may happen at the same time. | 4 |

**Export JSON** saves the org chart, goals, projects, routines and budgets, without secrets, to import elsewhere or keep as a template. **Archive** makes the company read-only and removes it from the main list until you **Reactivate** it. **Delete company** asks you to type its name.

## Common problems

### An agent never starts

Check the **Inbox**: with **Approve every hire** on, a new agent waits for you. Also check that the company is not paused and that no budget stopped it.

### The **Activity** log looks wrong

Use **Verify chain** in **Audit** to check that the log was not changed, and **Export CSV** to keep a copy.
