Paste a link to save video, audio and files from 1,000+ sites, or run AI coding agents. --- Superpowers # Telegram The Telegram superpower lets you sign in with your own Telegram account and download the photos, videos and files from your chats, groups and channels. It also finds its own route to Telegram on networks where Telegram is blocked. ## Where it is Open **Superpowers** in the sidebar and choose the **Telegram** card. To hide it, go to **Settings › Integrations › Telegram** and turn off **Enable Telegram**. It is on by default, and nothing connects until you open the screen. Before you sign in, the screen has two tabs: **Sign in** and **Connection**. After you sign in, it has **Chats**, **Save new**, **Send**, **Download by link**, **Export**, **Clone**, **Connection** and **Account**. ## How to use it ### Sign in 1. Open Telegram. The first time, OmniGet looks for a way to reach Telegram (system proxy, proxy apps, saved routes and Telegram’s rescue servers). When it finds one, choose **Continue to sign in**. 2. On **Sign in**, choose **QR code** or **Phone number**. 3. With **QR code**, open Telegram on your phone, go to **Settings › Devices › Link Desktop Device** and point the camera at the code. 4. With **Phone number**, type the number with its country code, choose **Send code**, then type the **Login code** Telegram sends (usually inside the Telegram app) and choose **Sign in**. 5. If the account has two-step verification, type your cloud password. Your session stays on this computer. Use only your own account. ### Download from a chat 1. Open **Chats** and pick a chat, group or channel on the left. 2. Filter by **All**, **Photos**, **Videos**, **Files** or **Audio**, or use **Search in this chat** with **Filters** for dates and size. 3. Click items to select them, or choose **Select all**. 4. Choose **Download**. **Download whole chat** downloads everything in the chat that matches the filters. Choose **Count** first to see how many files and how much space, then **Download**. **Skip files already saved** skips files with the same name and size in the folder. **Takeout mode** uses Telegram’s export session, which has higher limits for big downloads; Telegram may ask you to confirm on another device. Videos play inside the app. A video can also be sent to **Transcribe**, which uses the speech-to-text provider set up in the app, or Telegram’s own transcription on Telegram Premium accounts. ### Download by link 1. Open **Download by link**. 2. Paste `t.me` message links, one per line or mixed with text. Links to channels you can see with your account (`t.me/c/…`) work too. 3. Choose **Check links**, then **Download all**. ### Export a chat 1. Open **Export** and choose a chat. 2. Pick the **Format**: **HTML**, **JSON** or **Text**. 3. Turn on **Include media** to also save photos, videos and files next to the export. This can take a long time. 4. Choose **Export**. ### Save new media automatically 1. Open **Save new** and choose **New rule**, or open a chat and choose **Save new videos**. 2. Pick the **Chat**, the folder, and what to save under **What to save** (videos, photos, files, audio, GIFs, video messages, voice messages). Add size limits, a **Keyword** or extensions if you want. 3. Turn on **Also download the latest ones** to save recent items too (20 by default). 4. Choose **Create rule**. Rules run while the app is open. With **Real time** on, new messages are saved the moment they arrive, and **Check every** is a backup check. **Add to Watch** also puts each saved file in your [Watch](https://getomniget.com/docs/watch) library. ### Send files 1. Open **Send**, or choose **Send files** in a chat. 2. Pick the chat under **Send to**, then **Add files** or **Add folders**, or drop them on the window. 3. Choose **Send as file** to keep the original quality, **Group into albums** to group photos and videos, and **Delete from this computer after sending** if you want. 4. Choose **Review and send**, then **Send now**. Nothing is sent until you confirm. ### Forward and clone - In a chat, select items and choose **Forward** to send them to another chat of yours. **Hide the original sender** sends a copy without “Forwarded from”. - **Clone** copies the messages of a group or channel into a **New channel** or an **Existing channel** of yours. Choose **Review**, then **Start cloning**. A running clone can **Pause** and **Resume**. ### Switch accounts On **Account**, choose **Save current account** to keep the session, then **Switch** between saved accounts without signing in again. **Sign out** ends the session. ## Options | Option | What it does | Default | | --- | --- | --- | | **Enable Telegram** | Shows Telegram in Superpowers. | On | | **File name** | Name pattern for downloads (chat name, message number, date, original file name and more). Found on **Save new**. | On | | **Check every** | How often rules are checked on a timer. | 5 min | | **Connection mode** | **Automatic** uses the fastest working route and switches when it fails. **Fixed** always uses the route you chose with **Use**. | Automatic | | **Use Telegram’s rescue servers** | Uses the proxies Telegram publishes for when it is blocked. | On | | **Connect over IPv6** | Leave off unless your network and proxy both support IPv6. | Off | | **Resolve names with DNS over HTTPS** | Avoids poisoned DNS answers for proxy hostnames. | Off | | **Connection timeout (seconds)** | Raise it on slow or distant proxies. | 10 | ### Connection The **Connection** tab lists **Routes** with **Test all**, **Use**, **Keep this route** and **Remove failed**. You can: - **Paste links**: paste any text with proxies (`tg://proxy`, `t.me/socks`, `ss://`, `trojan://`, `socks5://`, `http://` or `host:port:secret`) and choose **Add and test**. - Add **Subscriptions**: your proxy provider’s subscription URL. OmniGet downloads the node list and tests its Shadowsocks and Trojan nodes. - Turn on **Extra protocols (mihomo)** for VLESS, Reality, Hysteria2, VMess and TUIC nodes. The open-source mihomo core is downloaded when you turn it on. - Choose **Run diagnosis** under **Diagnosis** to check the internet, the direct connection, proxy apps, saved routes, rescue servers and your clock. Inside the app, the Telegram client reaches the chosen route through a small SOCKS5 bridge on `127.0.0.1`, with a random port and password made at each start. You do not need to set it up. ## Common problems ### “Could not reach Telegram” Telegram is blocked on the network or no route works. If you use Clash, v2rayN or another proxy app, open it, connect to a node, turn on “System proxy” or “TUN mode”, then choose **Search again**. You can also paste a proxy link or subscription under **Connection**. ### “Your clock is off” Telegram refuses connections from computers whose clock is too far off. Turn on automatic date and time in your system settings. ### The SMS code does not arrive Telegram usually sends the code inside the Telegram app on your other devices. If it still does not arrive, sign in with the **QR code**. ### A video does not play Some formats do not play inside the app. Choose **Convert and play** to repackage it without changing the quality, or **Open in…** another player such as VLC, IINA or mpv. ### An AI agent asks to act on your Telegram Agents connected through the [MCP server](https://getomniget.com/docs/mcp-server) can ask to send messages, send files, forward or delete messages. Nothing happens until you choose **Approve**, and a request you do not answer is refused.
