Getting started
The app window
The OmniGet window has a sidebar on the left, a title bar with a search field on top, and the page in the middle. A tray icon keeps the app reachable when the window is closed.
The sidebar
The sidebar has two groups.
Main
| Item | What it opens |
|---|---|
| Home | The box Paste a link or search. See Paste a link. |
| Downloads | The queue and the history. A counter shows how many downloads are running or waiting (up to 99+). See Queue. |
| LLM | AI agents, threads and coding tools. See LLM overview. |
| Help | Guides and assistant. See Help inside the app. |
| Canvas | The board where agents work side by side. See The Canvas. |
App
| Item | What it opens |
|---|---|
| Superpowers | Music, Watch, OmniTube, Read and the other extra tools. See Superpowers. |
| Settings | All settings, grouped in General, Appearance, Downloads, AI and agents, Integrations and Advanced. |
| About | Version, release notes, terms and the project. |
At the bottom, your nickname and avatar open Settings › General › Local profile (Profile and appearance).
Collapse the sidebar to a rail
Click Collapse sidebar at the bottom of the sidebar, or press ⌃⌘SCtrl+Shift+S. The sidebar shrinks to a rail of icons; hover an icon to see its name. Press the same keys or click the button again to expand it. OmniGet remembers your choice.
On a narrow window, Settings and LLM fold the sidebar into a rail by themselves. The button then opens it as a drawer over the page; escEsc or a click outside closes it.
The title bar
The title bar shows the name of the page, the buttons of that page, and a Search field on the right. Some pages also show tabs in the middle.
Command palette
Press ⌘KCtrl+K or click Search in the title bar. Type to filter, move with ↑ and ↓, press ↩Enter to run, escEsc to close.
The palette has two groups:
- Navigate: Home, Downloads, Settings, Superpowers, Music, Watch, OmniTube, washmybelly, Read, Help and About. When you have AI accounts set up, it can also switch between them.
- Actions: Paste URL from clipboard puts the copied link in the Home box.
Inside LLM › Threads, ⌘KCtrl+K opens the palette of the threads instead. See All shortcuts.
Shortcuts dialog
Press ? (or ⌃/Ctrl+/) anywhere outside a text field to open Keyboard shortcuts. Press it again or escEsc to close. The full list is in All shortcuts.
The download bar
While something downloads, a bar at the bottom of the window shows how many items are downloading, queued, paused or failed, the size downloaded and the time left. View downloads opens the queue. When everything finishes it shows Downloads complete.
If you quit the app while downloads are running, OmniGet asks first (Downloads in progress): Keep running or Close anyway.
The tray icon
By default, closing the window keeps OmniGet running in the tray (the menu bar on macOS). A left click on the icon shows the window again. While downloads run, the icon shows how many are active, and its tooltip shows the speed.
The tray menu has:
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
| OmniGet | Shows the window. |
| Downloads | No active downloads, or how many are active. Information only. |
| Channels | The channels you follow. Pick one to check it for new videos now. See Followed channels. |
| Usage icon in the menu bar | Shows or hides a second icon with the usage of your Claude Code and Codex accounts. See Connections, models and limits. |
| Quit | Quits OmniGet. If downloads are running, the window opens and asks first. |
To make the close button quit the app instead, see Startup and profile.
