Superpowers

washmybelly

washmybelly is the system care superpower: it shows what fills your disk, cleans junk, uninstalls apps with what they leave behind, and adjusts startup, privacy, power and games. Nothing runs on its own, every change is reviewed before it happens, and the receipt in History puts it back.

Where it is

  • Superpowers › washmybelly › Open.
  • The switch is in Settings › Integrations › washmybelly: Show washmybelly. It is on by default. Turning it off also hides its tools from AI agents.

The page has a sidebar with five groups: See, Clean, Protect, Perform and Maintain. It only lists the modules that exist on your system; a module that needs something missing shows a lock with the reason. Modules marked Beta or Experimental carry that badge in the sidebar.

How to use it

Every module that changes something follows the same steps:

  1. Open the module. A scan starts only when you open it.
  2. Tick what you want to change. Each item shows its risk: Read only, Can be undone, Cannot be undone or Dangerous.
  3. Press the action (for example Clean now, Uninstall or Apply). A review sheet lists the items, the space freed, and whether the administrator password is needed. Copy the commands instead gives you the commands to run yourself.
  4. Confirm. When it ends, Undo puts everything back at once. You can also undo later from History.

Modules

See

  • Overview: how the computer is doing, live: a score with What lowers the score (free space, processor temperature, battery health, memory pressure, junk, login items, privacy settings), processor, memory and disk, and shortcuts to the module that helps. Junk and login items count once you scan them in Clean up and Startup.
  • Disk: pick a disk or Analyze home folder to see which folders take the most space, as Blocks or Rings. Find large files lists files over 100 MB, which you can Move to Trash. Disk health shows wear and status where the system reports it. Scanning changes nothing.

Clean

  • Clean up: four tabs, Junk, Project artifacts (build folders), Duplicates and Empty folders. Review, then Clean now.
  • Uninstall (beta): removes an app with the leftovers you tick. How to remove it offers Uninstall, Reset app (keeps the app and removes only its data and settings) and, for apps installed with Homebrew, With Homebrew, which cannot be undone. Apps you already removed › Find leftovers finds what an app left after you deleted it by hand.
  • Startup: what opens when you log in or runs in the background. Turning something off never deletes it. Some items can only be switched in the system settings.

Protect

  • Privacy (beta): three tabs. Settings turns off tracking, with a Recommended preset that is safe for most people and a Strict one that may turn off features you use. Permissions (macOS) lists apps allowed to use the camera, microphone, screen and files, and Reset makes the app ask again. Trackers blocks ads and trackers for every app through the hosts file, changing only OmniGet’s own block. Settings that weaken security stay hidden until you ask to see them.
  • Windows tweaks (beta, Windows only): Windows settings for speed, games and less clutter. Each one shows the current value. A restore point is made before the first administrator change of the day.
  • Persistence (beta, macOS only): everything set up to start by itself or live inside the system (agents, helpers, extensions, profiles), with what macOS can check about each: signature, missing files and XProtect matches.

Perform

  • Power & battery (beta): battery health, the power profile (Power Saver, Balanced, Performance, where the system offers them), what keeps the computer awake, and Keep performance for a set time.
  • Game mode (beta): pick a running game and Turn on for this game to give it the machine’s full attention. It turns off by itself when the game closes or OmniGet quits. On Linux, installing GameMode gives the full effect.
  • FPS & frametime (experimental): measures FPS, frame times and stutters, with Before and after comparisons. Windows uses PresentMon (downloaded from Intel on first use and checked before use), macOS uses the Metal HUD for games opened from here, and Linux uses MangoHud.

Maintain

  • Updates (beta): updates your package managers have waiting (Homebrew, winget, apt, dnf, pacman, zypper, Flatpak, Snap). Needs a supported package manager.
  • Maintenance (beta): repairs with a real effect, such as Clear the DNS cache, Rebuild the Spotlight index (macOS), Check and repair system files (Windows) or Trim SSDs (Linux). None of them speeds up your computer; they fix specific problems and cannot be undone.
  • History: every run, what it freed or changed, and Restore for anything that can be put back.

AI agents

An AI client connected to OmniGet over MCP can ask washmybelly to clean up or undo a cleanup. A prompt shows what it wants to do, and nothing happens until you press Allow. Deny refuses it.

Common problems

A module shows a lock

Hover the lock to read the reason. On macOS, Privacy permissions and some scans need Full Disk Access: use Open Privacy & Security, give OmniGet access, then Check again.

“This plan expired. Scan again to get a fresh one.”

A review is valid only for the scan it came from. Scan again and review the new list.

“It changed after the scan, so it was left alone.”

The file changed between the scan and the cleanup, so washmybelly skipped it on purpose. Scan again if you still want it gone.

FPS on Windows asks for the administrator

Windows only lets administrators and members of “Performance Log Users” read frame times. Use Set up once, then sign out of Windows and back in.
